Project / Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to provide overall program leadership on the IT program of projects within multiple major capital construction projects. Lead the IT scope of work required to support the new facility build projects. The Program Manager will manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, with many stakeholders and many complex needs. The Program Manager will report to the Director of IT Operations, Major Capital Construction and will provide the required decision and project management support to ensure projects stay on time and on budget. The construction work is being managed by other groups.
Responsibilities / Deliverables:
The Sr. Program Manager responsibilities/deliverables may include, but may not be limited to:
Manage overall planning, coordination and delivery of the IT scope in multiple complex, high priority, major capital construction projects and develop dashboards and reporting analytics to show progress;
b. Provide communications to executives, partners, stakeholders and users throughout the projects; and oversee the procurement and financial tracking;
Manage program change and address program issues and organize, lead and document critical project/program meetings;
Facilitation of multiple stakeholders through design and construction to meet a desired scope, budget and timeline;
Overall procurement management and tracking, the program coordination of the scope and the budget development and management throughout project lifecycle;
Assign priorities and identify the resources required to meet the needs of the program;
Provide regular program status reports and oversee all stages of the project cycle through conceptual, schematic and detailed design, construction, client T/O, commissioning and project validation;
Inform and advise Director of project delivery risk and mitigation strategies ;
Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned/required by the Director of IT Operations Major Capital Construction;
Experience / Skills Requirements:
The Sr. Program Manager should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
1. Degree, Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience in related field.
2. 11-15 years of experience in project management within the information technology or building construction fields;
3. Trained in Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and guidelines with eligibility PMP Certification and PgMP® eligibility;
4. Thoroughly knowledgeable of the standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to the construction and maintenance of structures and facilities;
5. Computer skills in such programs as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc);
6. Ability to be flexible and willing to adapt to change in workload;
7. Effective time management and organizational skills;
8. Must be capable of working independently;
9. Previous experience in healthcare IT or construction is an asset;
10. Previous major project experience is an asset;
11. Must possess advanced communication skills and be capable of translating complex technical solutions into business focused language.
