As a Senior Project Manager, the incumbent is able to manage large, multi-faceted, complex projects or multiple projects concurrently and is capable of managing expectations and stakeholder interests that span several areas of the College. The projects managed by the Senior Project Manager are strategic and transformational in nature. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that best practices are undertaken and the benefits are being fully realized through the institution. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for defining the project requirements and is accountable for all project work during each process of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and close-out. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for key milestones for roll out, change management and communications plan, training required within the College as well as the definition and implementation of support models, if required.
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for delivering the identified project objectives on time and within budget. The incumbent is responsible for identifying, resourcing, and retaining project resource requirements and for managing the project work. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible for identifying stakeholders and managing the stakeholder engagement.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing professional project management leadership and for coaching and contributing to the professional development of project resources. The Senior Project Manager is expected to contribute significantly to the development of standard business processes, such as business case templates with measurable KPIs and project management standards, processes, and tools to grow the foundation of the Project Management Office (PMO) as well as contributing to the development of organizational service delivery and change management models.
Required Qualifications: Minimum four (4) year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration
Project management certification is required i.e. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2;
At least 9 years of project management experience with a strong record of delivering quality project outcomes within the defined scope, time, and cost parameters;
Experience leading business transformation projects;
Experience leading teams and managing deliverables in a matrix environment;
Experience delivering automation solutions combined with business process improvement initiatives;
Experience working with and presenting to upper management and senior executives;
Experience with large enterprise projects and budgets of up to 5 million;
Agile or Scrum Master designation is an asset;
Experience with Salesforce is required;
Experience with Jira is required;
Excellent knowledge and experience with Software Development Life Cycle processes;
Experience with Microsoft Project online is required;
Business transformation experience;
Project/Program management demonstrated capability;
Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate well at varying levels of the College hierarchy;
Excellent understanding of application development and systems development life cycle methodologies;
Strong process engineering/design skills;
Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and presentation skills;
Results driven and self-motivated;
Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
Customer focused with strong analytical skills;
Excellent leadership, motivational, and conflict resolution skills;
