We are hiring a Full-Time Permanent position working out of Edmonton, AB!
The Senior Analyst, Drainage Services PMO is accountable for the performance of the Drainage Services Project Management Office (PMO) by working with Drainage Services Project and Program Managers, Capital Finance, and Capital Steering Committees.
This includes providing document training and support to Project Managers throughout the project management lifecycle, delivery of appropriate project reporting (monthly, quarterly, budget and year-end), providing expert training in Oracle Projects, scheduling and participating in the capital steering committee and project/program level meetings.
What you’d be responsible for
Provide input to the Drainage Services, PMO plans and directions.
Ensure an appropriate understanding of Drainage Services PMO strategies.
Maintain Drainage Services capital projects information systems (Oracle Projects, CAPEX Dashboard, Project SharePoint sites, Work Management Systems); recording, monitoring, forecasting, and budgeting of all project expenditures.
Analyze the monthly and quarterly project variance and forecast reports for review by the Capital Steering Committee.
Provide data mining and analytics support to retrieve project information from various sources such as Oracle, CAPEX Dashboard, SharePoint, and Power BI.
Work with the Manager, PMO to maintain consistent project management templates, forms and standards.
Create and use spreadsheets and databases to collect, compare, and analyze data and prepare trends
Provide support and training to Project Managers in the functionality of Oracle Projects to facilitate accuracy in project financial reporting.
Assist the Manager, PMO in the delivery of the annual capital budget, long-term plans and regulatory filings including development of associated template and reports, providing training and holding meetings.
Develop and maintain collaborative and supportive relationships with all Drainage Services departments and groups including, but not limited to:
Project Management
Supply Chain
Regulatory and
Individual Project Managers
Ensure an appropriate understanding of capitalization policies and communicate potential issues in application to Capital Finance for review and assessment.
Must be comfortable and experienced in written and oral communications. Will be asked to prepare reports and make presentations at meetings as required.
Review, understand and incorporate the company policies (i.e. capital investment, supply chain, finance) and procedures into daily activities.
Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.
What’s required to be successful
Completed diploma or degree in operational management, accounting or a related project management field.
Minimum 7 years of related experience in the area of projects/project management and/or data analytics.
A minimum of 5 years in a Project Management Office and/or Stage Gate Administrator role would be preferred.
Understanding and experience of Project Management processes and knowledge areas and stage gates processes.
A minimum of 5 years experience in analyzing technical information and the ability of making timely, well rationalized decisions would be considered an asset.
Experience in providing and/or facilitating training would be preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Project and Visio)
Strong familiarity with Oracle Applications or similar ERP systems. Proficiency with Oracle Projects will be considered a strong asset
Strong familiarity with SharePoint and workflow approvals will be considered a strong asset.

Wage: $47.76 - $57.00 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement that may be found online.)
Hours of work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
